Background

The search for beautiful skin has always been a personal quest. I have an olive skin type and have always endured hormonal pigmentation. To make matters worse, I then suffered from adult onset acne after the birth of my daughter. This despite the fact that I had never had a single pimple as a teenager! In 2001 I immigrated to Australia, which changed my whole entire outlook on skin care.

The turning point

It was during my first facial in Australia that I began to see the light. The therapist asked me what my concerns were and I promptly told her, “can’t you see my pigmentation?” Her response was to simply ask me what sunscreen I use. It had never occurred to me to use sunscreen, as it was a greasy addition to my already oily skin type! She promptly replied, “There is no point in treating your concerns if you not going to protect your skin against the UVA & UVB rays!” I have been applying moistening sunscreen 30+ ever since...

Great changes

In 2003, at the age of 31, I enrolled in a Bachelor of Health Science in Aesthetics at UNE in New South Wales, Australia. The degree allowed me to explore the beauty industry with a more systematic, medical approach. It was in 2005 that I came across the Alpha-H product range, after my mom won a hamper following a golf game challenge. I selected a product called Liquid Gold and started using it. Within a matter of days, my skin began to look and feel different, beyond anything I had ever tried before!

The Alpha-H journey

It was at that point that I decided that I needed to find out more about Alpha-H. I discovered that the owner of Alpha-H, Michelle Doherty, was living in the same resort as my folks! I then got into contact with Michelle and began to work within the company. I learnt so much by being apart of the Alpha-H family and I wanted to bring this incredible product to my home country- South Africa.
